A NEW CLUB FOR RECREATIONAL SHOOTING
Bill Orr of rural Treynor is a National Rifle Association instructor and has a passion for target shooting. He organized a youth club under the Scholastic Clay Target Program rules, and the new Treynor club has eight youth participating in recreational shooting. Orr explained the club requirements are that the youth be in high school, maintain school academics, and have completed a hunter education course or Boy Scout shooting merit badge. Other nearby clubs are in Glenwood and Harlen. Orr stated none of the youth had ever seen trap or skeet shooting before joining the club. Yet, they achieved 2nd and 3rd place in competition at the Shelby County High School Trap Meet.
